alaap: change through art is a research based cultural organization with a vision to pursue peace through various forms of art in today’s Pakistani society, where violence has become order of the day.

Where bullets hurt, love penetrates deep within the heart with the power to transform. This power lies greatly in the hands of our youth; uncontaminated minds, innocent hearts and selfless vision for a progressive society.  alaap believes the youth through its talent can change the world; to begin with our own society. Thus, the abbreviation ALAAP means Ambassador of Love, Art and Peace; the youth are its leaders.

Founded by a group of self-motivated journalists, artists, researchers, musicians and writers, alaap envisions a prosperous and peaceful society creatively connected to its cultural heritage. With a core objective to strengthen and promote Pakistan as a peaceful country, alaap encourages, facilitates, interlinks, trains and promote upcoming and established artists and peace activists.

alaap is affiliated with JMI – Jeunesses Musicales International, world’s largest network of organizations that promotes peace through music. This makes alaap the only organization of JMI in South Asia.

Through a series of events like cultural festivals, art exhibitions, musical evenings, seminars and writings, alaap dreams to conceive a nation that will build a society free from violence and obscurantism.

Peace is not a season; it is a way of Life.
